Michael Cole Commits to VT
by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com, TSLMail Breaking News, August 2, 2010

The Virginia Tech football program received a big commitment on Monday when Cave Spring High School (Roanoke) safety Michael Cole announced his college decision. Cole, who is expected to play linebacker at the college level, chose the Hokies over Penn State. He also had offers from UVA, Duke and Maryland.

At 6-2, 200, Cole is expected to play close to the line of scrimmage for Virginia Tech. That could mean a spot at whip, or perhaps even backer if he can put on enough weight.

Cole is ranked as the #17 player in the state of Virginia in TechSideline.com's Top 40 list. He received an offer from Penn State in late June, took the month of July to mull things over, and then ultimately decided on the Hokies.

He is the ninth player to commit to Virginia Tech for the 2011 recruiting class. For more on Cole's commitment, stay tuned to TSL.
