Hokies Grab Tight End Commitment by Will Stewart, TechSideline.com, TSLMail Breaking News, June 15, 2010 Eagles Landing Christian Academy (McDonough, GA) tight end Christian Reeves has become the third prospect to commit to Virginia Tech in the 2011 class. The 6-4, 215-pound prospect informed the Tech coaches of his decision this evening, less than two weeks after earning an official scholarship offer after a stellar camp performance. Reeves ran a 4.53 time in the 40 yard dash at Tech's June 5th football camp to impress the Hokie coaches and earn an offer. Reeves has offers from Air Force and Central Florida, with interest also coming from Georgia, NC State, and Vanderbilt. "I've just been thinking it over and I decided that even if I did receive other scholarship offers they wouldn't trump Tech's offer," Reeves told TSL's Chris Horne. "Instead of dragging it out and piling up offers, I committed to the place I wanted to be so I could focus on working towards next season." Reeves was very complimentary of the Virginia Tech program, where he is told he could fill an H-back role. As a junior last season, Reeves caught 26 passes for 584 yards (22.5 ypc).
