First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA) safety Nick Dew has made no secret of the fact that he has been a heavy Virginia Tech lean for a long time, and on Saturday, Dew finally pulled the trigger and committed to the Hokies.

ESPN reported the commitment Saturday afternoon, and Dew confirmed it in a text message to TSL recruiting analyst Chris Horne.

Dew is the 18th commitment for Virginia Tech's 2010 recruiting class, the 12th from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dew is ranked the #13 player in the state in TSL's Preseason In-State Top 30, and with his commitment, the Hokies now have 11 of the Top 30.
