Seth Greenberg got some good news over the weekend when Hidden Valley High School shooting guard Ben Boggs gave his verbal commitment to the Hokies.

Boggs is a 6-4 junior guard, a 2009 recruit. According to the Roanoke Times, he chose Virginia Tech over offers from Davidson, William & Mary and James Madison, as well as heavy interest from Michigan and UNC Wilmington.

The Hokies reportedly offered Boggs in the summer of 2005, before he ever played a varsity game for Hidden Valley. He averaged 16.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game for his high school as a sophomore. He led Hidden Valley to the Region III Championship last season.
