Hokie Basketball Receives Commitment from 4-star Guard Dorenzo Hudson
by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com

Basketball practice begins on Thursday for Virginia Tech, but Seth Greenberg has a reason to be happy early this week. Dorenzo Hudson, the highest rated uncommitted shooting guard in the nation, has committed to Virginia Tech.

Hudson is a four star player by Scout.com and rated the #51 player in America. He joins Jeff Allen and Gus Gilchrist as Scout.com top 100 players committed to Virginia Tech in the class of 2007. Fellow 2007 commits Malcolm Delaney and Terrell Bell are ranked in the top 100 by various services as well.

Hudson, a 6-4, 185 shooting guard who will play for Hargrave Military Academy this season, chose the Hokies over a score of other top programs, including Ohio State, Miami, Wake Forest, Maryland, Indiana and Illinois. He is known for his ability to score in a variety of ways.

Hudson joins a class that is currently rated the 12th best class in the nation by Scout.com. The Hokies could take one more player in this class. A number of highly-touted players are still very interested in the Hokies, including 4-star small forward Alvin Mitchell.

Regardless of whether or not Tech gets another player, this will go down as the best recruiting class in the history of Virginia Tech basketball up to this point.

We will have a recruiting update with comments from Hudson soon.
