Virginia Tech received their 21st commitment for the 2007 recruiting class when Gwynn Park (Brandywine, MD) defensive end Courtney Prince announced on Monday that he has verballed to the Hokies and recruiting coach Kevin Sherman. Prince, a 6-2, 260 pound defensive line prospect, chose the Hokies over offers from Rutgers, Syracuse and Tennessee. Penn State was also showing heavy interest. Prince attended Virginia Tech’s one-day rising senior camp in early July, and that visit led him to choose the Hokies. "I actually committed on Thursday," Prince admitted this evening. "Coach Sherman (Prince's primary recruiter) was very excited when I told him, and I was very excited too." Prince was the fourth verbal commitment announced on Monday. He joins Khalil Latif, Rhett Ellison and Alonzo Tweedy, who also made their announcements on Monday. With 21 players already committed, Virginia Tech is nearly finished with their 2007 recruiting class. For more information on Courtney Prince, see our TSL Pass update on the TSL home page. Click
