LB Quille Odom Commits to VT
by Will Stewart, TechSideline.com
Virginia Tech has picked up verbal commitment #1 for the 2007 football recruiting class, and it comes from a linebacker prospect out of Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, Virginia.
Quille Odom, a 6-1, 200-pound prospect, is the first player to pledge to Tech's 2007 class.
"He had a lot of schools coming in such as Syracuse, Virginia, Maryland, Marshall and JMU, so he was being recruited by a lot of different people," Osbourn Park head coach Brian Beaty said. "I know Tech was one of the schools on the top of his list. I had a chance to send a tape to them and he's been in communication with them. I guess he was pretty impressed with them because he committed."
Odom played some
defensive end as a sophomore and middle linebacker as a junior. He projects as
a backer (Xavier Adibi's position) at Tech.
