After receiving a scholarship offer from Virginia Tech last week, 6-4, 215-pound quarterback/athlete Kam Chancellor from Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia decided to accept and has become the 12th player to verbally commit to the Hokies in the 2006 class. "He has committed to Virginia Tech," Maury head coach Dealton Cotton confirmed this afternoon. Chancellor led Maury to a 9-2 season this year, throwing for over 2,000 yards and rushing for around 400 yards. He is being recruited by Virginia Tech as a quarterback, but could play other positions as well. Chancellor is the third player from the state of Virginia to commit to VT for the 2006 class. For more comments from Coach Cotton on Chancellor's abilities as a QB, see our TSL Pass recruiting update. We'll have comments from Chancellor himself as soon as we are able to contact him. Click
