Beau Warren Commits

by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com

Virginia Tech received their eighth commitment for the 2006 recruiting class when Centreville (VA) High School offensive lineman Beau Warren announced over the weekend that he would be playing his college ball in Blacksburg.

Warren is the younger brother of current Virginia Tech linebackers Blake and Brett Warren. Beau will never get a chance to play with his eldest brother Blake, who is a senior, but he will have the opportunity to be teammates with the middle brother Brett. Brett will be a true sophomore for the Hokies in 2005.

Beau Warren is ranked as the #23 player in Virginia by the Roanoke Times and #21 in the state by TechSideline.com's Chris Horne. Warren projects as an offensive tackle on the college level, measuring in at 6-4, 260.

"Well, I think he's definitely an offensive lineman and he's probably a tackle," says Centreville head coach Mike Skinner. "He's got long arms and he'll be a 300-pounder within two years. He's probably going to end up being 6-5. He's  probably going to be a good one, because he's pretty athletic."

Warren is a good pickup for the Hokies and fulfills an area of great need. He joins Ohio offensive lineman Clark Crum as the second offensive line commitment for Virginia Tech this year. The Hokies will probably sign about five offensive linemen in the 2006 class.
