Linebacker Justin London (pictured at right) from Northside High School in Roanoke made an unusual choice today when he verbaled to the UCLA Bruins over nearby Virginia Tech. Producing a photograph of himself as a 12-year-old wearing a UCLA shirt, London said it was a lifelong dream of his to play for the Bruins, and that he was following his dream.

His choice came down to Virginia Tech and UCLA, and he was torn between the two for a long time before committing to the Bruins. London has godparents living in San Diego. He was offered a scholarship to Virginia Tech prior to his tenth grade year, and the Hokie coaches worked hard on procuring London over the years, but to no avail. London was very gracious and thanked the recruiting coaches of both programs.
