Hinton Gets a Look at Tech
Hargrave Military Academy prospect Michael Hinton took his first official visit last
weekend, heading down to Blacksburg to take a closer look at Virginia Tech.
According to Hargrave coach Robert Prunty, the trip was very good.
"Mike was real excited following his visit," said Prunty. "He said it went really well."
The Hokies are recruiting Hinton as an athlete. The 6-3, 197 pound Hinton has tremendous speed and athleticism, as he
exhibited during the 2002 Hargrave Winter combine. There, he ran a 4.41 in the 40, and displayed a 36-inch vertical
jump.
According to Prunty, Hinton isn't favoring anyone at this time. One plus for the Hokies is Hinton's excellent
relationship with the Tech coaching staff.
"He loves the coaches at Virginia Tech," said Prunty. "He really likes Coach Beamer and Coach
Rogers."
Kevin Rogers is Hinton's primary recruiter, and he would love to have him offensive side of the ball. Hinton will now
visit Louisville on January 10, Georgia on January 17, and NC State on January 24. All four schools have offered.
