The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot reported Sunday that Virginia Tech defensive back Brandon Flowers will declare for the 2008 NFL Draft. Virginian-Pilot reporter Kyle Tucker quoted Flowers' father Willie as saying that Flowers would go pro.

Flowers is a redshirt-junior with 10 career interceptions, including five in the 2007 season. Flowers has also tallied 158 career tackles, including 3.5 sacks. Flowers was a third-team AP All-American as a redshirt sophomore in 2006, and he was elevated to second-team AP All-American this season.

Flowers submitted his paperwork to the NFL advisory committee in December, and he was advised that he would be a second-round pick.
