Turkey Bites
- My Old Hokies/New Hokies opinion piece from yesterday drew a flood of eloquent and
heartfelt email from some old Hokies, so I've updated the Mailbag page with some letters
that I think you'll enjoy. Check it out.
- Bryan Still caught a 14-yard touchdown pass in the Chargers' 23-20 preseason loss to the
Vikings the other night. I was not able to get his complete stats, but he caught the TD
pass early in the fourth quarter of a tight game, so that's good news, at least.
- For those of you who, like me, consider tailgating in the Animal Science parking lot to
be a tradition (nay, your birth right as a Hokie), you may have to find a new
place to park. The AnSci parking lot will not be available to the general public during
games this coming football season. Instead, it will become a Hokie Club parking lot, due
to the loss of parking spaces elsewhere during the construction that's going on near the
football stadium. The Hokie Club level is donations of $100-$250, and although I'd like to
think that all Hokie Central readers give at least $1,000 a year, I know that's not true,
so many of you may be displaced when you come to visit for a football game this year. I
know, it kinda makes me sad, too. I'm in the Hokie Club, so it's not a problem for me, but
it's just weird, you know?
- The new official Tech football web site is looking pretty snazzy. I liked Damian Salas'
old site, but the new one is packed with info, including a page dedicated to the new
Merryman Center, complete with a picture of the architectural (did I spell that right?)
model. Visit it at http://sports.vt.edu/football/
