Season Ticket FAQ

When do season tickets get mailed?

Football season tickets are usually mailed in late July or early August. If you frequent the TSL Football message board, it is not necessary to flood the board with a message every single day from July 1 on asking about when tickets will be sent. In fact, you should never ask this question on the board, because no matter when you do it, someone else has already asked. As soon as someone finds out, they'll post it for you. 100 times.

Where is my parking spot? Why does it keep moving farther from the stadium?

You'll get it with your season tickets. People donate money to Tech athletics so our programs improve. Tech rewards better donors with better parking. You have ZERO right to complain when someone else who gives more than you causes you to go from the Cassell lot to Chicken Hill. That's the way the system works. If you want a better spot, give more money. If you want to complain without giving more money, I hear the University of Virginia at Charlottesville has plenty of season tickets available.

I received my season tickets but the Maroon Book I ordered was not included! Should I add more congestion to the VT Ticket Office phone lines just because I'm impatient? Or should I just flood the TSL message board asking why I didn't get mine, year after year, day after day?

Try some patience on and JUST WAIT. The Maroon Books are mailed SEPARATELY from tickets. If you are that hard-up for Hokie scoop, read up on the online version while you are waiting.

I received my season tickets but the tickets I ordered for (an) away game(s) were not included! Should I add more congestion to the VT Ticket Office phone lines just because I'm impatient? Or should I just flood the TSL message board asking why I didn't get mine, year after year, day after day?

NO. As always, the ticket office sends away game tickets out about two weeks before the game. If it hasn't clicked yet that you're causing enough problems for OUR folks, imagine five or six other schools' offices having to deal with every opponents' school all at once. Chaos.

Someone else posted on the board that they got their tickets already. Is it OK to hit the panic button and figure, "the d#$& ticket office MUST have screwed EVERYTHING up!" because I didn't get them that same second? Or should I just ensure that everyone on the TSL board sends countless messages complaining about this endlessly?

Again, the word is PATIENCE. Or try CHILL, if you prefer. No matter the terminology, MAIL IS NOT INSTANTANEOUS. For crying out loud, just because someone in the town next to you got their tickets already does not mean the ticket office has screwed up. That's why they give you a nifty device called a TRACKING NUMBER. So if like you can watch every crawl of your parcel. If you don't have this luxury because you forgot to give Tech your e-mail address, DEAL WITH IT. Try waiting, say-gasp!-five (5) days, and then call them. So unless you're going to Africa for the next month and not getting back until game day, you'll have plenty of time to get any issues resolved.

I am way too impatient to wait for my tickets! Can't I just call the ticket office to see who the printer is and pick them up as soon as they come off the presses?

Do you want to be hauled away in handcuffs? Use some common sense, for crying out loud. They got mailed from Arkansas in 2002, so someone in Texas could get their tickets before someone in Blacksburg.

OK, fine. I'll wait. But in the meantime can't I just bug the ticket office for fun?

No, and please don't bug the TSL message board either. The ticket office isn't going to tell you your parking spot, new seat locations, ticket shipping date, UPS tracking number, or average beers consumed per fan on game day.

Also, please realize that impatience and indifference or ignorance to the process gives you no right to criticize and complain!
