LB Telvion Clark Journell Commits to VT
by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com

Virginia Tech received their sixth commitment of the 2009 recruiting class on Monday. Granby (Norfolk, VA) linebacker Telvion Clark announced his intentions for Tech, choosing the Hokies over two other finalists, Penn State and North Carolina.

Clark is a 6-1, 205-pound linebacker. He registered over 150 tackles in 2007 as a junior, and he also recorded nine sacks. Besides Penn State and UNC, he also held offers from West Virginia, Marshall and East Carolina.

Clark was in Blacksburg for the Hokies’ rising senior camp earlier this month and came away impressed. He also came away with a scholarship offer. He vowed to take his visits to Penn State and UNC. After visiting both of those campuses, he decided that Virginia Tech was the place for him.

Clark ran a 4.45 in the 40 at Tech’s camp, and some teams such as Penn State were giving him a look at safety. He’s expected to play linebacker for the Hokies.
