CB Cris Hill Commits to VT
by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com

Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment on Thursday from Highland Springs (Richmond, VA) High School cornerback Cris Hill. Hill is Tech's 23rd verbal commitment of the 2007 recruiting class, and one of the Hokies' top prospects left on their board.

Hill is the #8 prospect in the state by TechSideline.com and #3 by The Roanoke Times. He has a very impressive offer list, including Tennessee, Boston College, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, NC State, Ohio State, Virginia and West Virginia. Hill eventually narrowed his list to Virginia Tech and Tennessee, and he selected the in-state Hokies.

Hill, 5-11, 175, is considered a cornerback at the next level by most recruiting experts, but he could potentially play wide receiver as well.

Hill's commitment is the start of what could be a very good week for Virginia Tech. Varina (Richmond, VA) standouts Jamar Jackson and Bud Tribbey are announcing their college destinations tomorrow afternoon at 1:45. Jackson, a defensive end, will choose between Virginia Tech and Florida State. Tribbey, a defensive tackle, will decide between Virginia Tech and Syracuse
