Wide Receiver Douglas McNeil Commits to VT
by Will Stewart, TechSideline.com

Virginia Tech's latest verbal commitment comes from New Town High School in Owings Mills, Maryland.  All-state wide receiver Douglas McNeil, a 6-4, 190-pound prospect who camped at Tech last summer, committed to the Hokies today during a meeting with recruiting coach Tony Ball.

As a senior in 2005, McNeil caught 31 passes for 681 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had a punt return for a score.  For his performance, he earned first-team small school all-state honors at the wide receiver position.

McNeil, who is being recruited as a wide receiver by the Hokies. chose Tech over UVa and JMU. McNeil is Tech's 17th commitment for 2006 (including wide receiver Todd Nolen, who signed in 2005 and prepped at Fork Union this past fall).
