Both Rivals.com and TheInsiders.com reported the commitment late last week of Centreville (Clifton, VA) linebacker Brett Warren, the brother of current Hokie linebacker Blake Warren and the teammate of 2003 VT verbal Matt Welsh.

The 6-2, 210-pound Warren is rated the #19 player in the state by TechSideline.com, and the #28 player in the state by Doug Doughty of the Roanoke Times. He is rated as a two-star player by Rivals.com and the #31 recruit in the state.

Warren had received offers from Richmond and Marshall and was also being recruited by Pittsburgh. He will defer enrollment until January 2004. For now, TechSideline.com will list him as a 2003 commitment.

Warren is Tech's fifth verbal in the last week and tenth overall commitment for the 2003 recruiting class. For the complete list of VT verbals, click here.
