News With Commentary by TSL Staff Monday, November 26, 2001 Hokies versus Noles in Gator Bowl Virginia Tech will announce Monday evening that it has accepted a bid to play Florida State in the Toyota Gator Bowl on Jan. 1 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. Kickoff will be 12:30 p.m. The game will be a rematch of the 1999 national championship game, won by the Seminoles 46-29. This will be Virginia Tech's fourth appearance in the Gator Bowl since 1994. In '94, the Hokies lost 45-23 to Tennessee; in 1997, they lost 42-3 to North Carolina; and last year, they whipped Clemson 41-21.
